Classes: Cooking for Wellbeing
Something for Everyone
With a focus on food skills, wellness, regenerative and sustainable eating, and deliciousness.
No matter where you are on your food journey, there is something for you: Whether you are new to nutrition-focused, whole, plant-forward, scratch cooking; knowledgeable, experienced, and confident in the kitchen, or somewhere in between.
Classes are for individuals or groups who are interested in creative approaches to diversify their diet, build their pantry, learn new food skills and cooking techniques, try new ingredients or recipes, and truly make the connection for themselves, between food choices and their impact on us, other people, and the environment.
Most importantly, this is an opportunity to discover or re-discover the joy and satisfaction of cooking together, creating delicious, nourishing food and sharing a meal.

Regenerative Cooking for Human and Planetary Health
Culinary Nutrition and Wellbeing. It is hard to understand and pursue a healthy life when surrounded by an unhealthy, unsustainable food system. This class will look at the root causes of inequities around health and well-being, why it can be hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and what we can do about it personally and in the community.
Nutrition vs Nourishment
What does food and cooking look like for me? Simply eating the right foods may not nourish you-we’ll explore the tools, concepts, ingredients, and strategies to eat well and be well nourished.
What Are Whole Foods?
Why do whole foods matter?
What are whole foods, and how can you integrate them into your life? We’ve all heard the term ‘whole foods’, and probably even know what they are, but we’ll discuss what truly makes something a whole food, why they are so important, and how to make them delicious!
Why do whole foods matter? What difference do whole foods make in our daily well-being, and over time? We’ll dive into the physiology, nutrition, and culinary benefits.
Feeding your Family & Engaging Young People
This class focuses on how to engage young people in cooking and eating ‘healthy’ foods. We often think that children or young people don’t like ‘healthy’ food or preparing it, but I believe it is in the delivery. We will explore strategies to create an engaging, appealing, and enjoyable environment for the young people in our lives to participate in the planning, preparation, and eating of delicious, nourishing foods.
Cooking from the Garden
How to make seasonal food delicious for now or later. Seasonal eating sounds simple, but it can be confusing and even overwhelming. This class helps break down the various reasons to eat with the seasons and approachable, affordable ways to do it. It will also address food preservation and how to extend the season, so we can eat seasonal, local food year-round.
Easy Strategies for Building a Pantry
Setting yourself up for success with a repertoire of simple, delicious, whole-food meals. I believe that success in the kitchen begins with a well-built pantry. We need to have the proper tools to get the job done. Once we do this, the planning and implementation will go much more smoothly and efficiently. This is something we can utilize throughout our lives and in almost any circumstance.
